Just Watched the Latest Smallville

Have you ever asked the question, “what if the most iconic American Superhero landed in Soviet Russia?” Well, even if you haven’t - Mark Millar has given you an answer in this amazing mini-series, Superman: Red Son.

This latest Geek Shirt is actually the first one (out of these first three) that I owned. My wife bought it for me because she saw how big a fan of Smallville I was. When I went to post this picture to the site it got me thinking. There really are two types of people that “wear” Superman. There are those superhero/comic book fans that proudly wear the House of El family crest, the Kryptonian symbol for hope, to show the world that they love the last son of Krypton.
And then there are those egomaniacs that wear it or have it tattooed because they think they are “a superman” - like Bon Jovi, Shaq, or Dwight Howard.
Me? I’m just glad that I fall on the geek/fan side of things - of course in life I find that the geeky side of the tracks is usually where I always fall.

For nine seasons, Smallville has given us the adventures of Clark Kent as he makes his journey from alien visitor, to superpowered farm boy, to heroic reporter.
Now, as we look ahead to the tenth and final season, I am hoping that we see him make that final step. The one we all know is coming. The one that is his destiny.
Will we finally see Superman?

I found this book on the shelf at Memorial Hall Library in Andover, MA - and yes I go to public libraries and take out comic books even though I am in my 30s. It pulled me in with the fact that it had my two favorite superheroes on the cover - Batman (my favorite since since the ‘89 film) and Superman (my favorite since I became obsessed with Smallville in 2005).
I seem to remember there was a animated show or movie with the same title. I thought maybe this was an adaptation of it. I was happy to later read the book came first. The collection I read is the first story arc of the “Superman/Batman” book that came out in 2003. An animated movie of this storyline was released in 2009.
